Breaking News: Transfer Alert
Transfer news usually takes place post high school season, during the summer, or early Fall. Prep Hoops has first insight into a major move that can shake up 4A Basketball in Washington!
2020 W/F Kendall Munson is cleared and will have his first practice with Puyallup High School today after moving from Capital Christian High School in Sacramento, California. Kendall is a 6’9, 210 pound SF/PF that has very good length, athleticism and an expanding skill set. His ceiling is very high and he will be expected to make a big impact for the 4-0 Puyallup Vikings. He will provide instant shot blocking, play making and transition scoring for Puyallup who has been known to like to play fast in past seasons. Puyallup already boasts 2019 7 footer Zane Foster and list two other 6’9 centers as well. 2019 guard Jaeden Ingram does a lot of heavy lifting on the perimeter for the Vikings. Kendall will be able to fit right in between the centers and strong guard play that Puyallup provides.
Kendall is originally from Washington and dominated the youth basketball scene in elementary and early middle school before moving to California later in middle school. It was a family decision to move back to Washington and he mentioned “I just wanted to be around more family and I’m happy to be home!” The junior has high expectations of himself on the court. “My goals are to be awarded 4A South Puget Sound League MVP, lead my team to a league championship and state title.” Gonzaga Prep and Federal Way stand in the way, but Puyallup’s stock has risen!
Kendall has a lot of Division 1 interest from mid-high major schools including WSU, Nevada, Oregon State, Seattle U and more. With a strong high school season and one more spring/summer of club ball, there is still a lot of opportunity in his recruitment. For now, he is excited about being back home and focused on trying to win a state title.
