York Prep vs Dorman HS
Dorman HS was suppose to play the host Ridge View HS in the evening but had their game changed due to getting back to Spartanburg by 5 P.M. The York Prep Patriots jumped out to 7-0 lead in this game behind the sharp shooting of sophomore Roman Bowie. Dorman HS stormed back and took and only trailed 16-14 at the end of the first quarter.
The Dorman HS Cavaliers took a 34-31 in to halftime and eventually won the game 57-53 over the pesky Patriots squad. The Cavaliers move to (5-2) on the season while York Prep falls to (2-6) on the year.
Senior Kamal Desor was the X-Factor today for the Cavaliers. Desor finished the game with 20 points and 9 rebounds and was (8-11) from the around the cup. Myles Tate finished the game with 17 points and is closing in on the 1,000 point club. Ta’Lon Cooper a Morehead State signee finished with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The Cavaliers still don’t have he services of P.J. Hall the #1 ranked player in the 2020 Palmetto State Class.
The Patriots have a whole new team from last year except for Deuce Dean and Isiah Benjamin. Dean a senior point finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists today. Benjamin a left-handed guard finished the game with 13 points. Roman Bowie added 11 points in the defeat.
Nation Ford HS vs North Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC)
Nation Ford HS played two different halves of basketball today. The Falcons trailed 30-27 to the Vikings at halftime. The Nation Ford HS Falcons fell apart in the 2nd half and lost 80-50. The Falcons drop to (6-2) on the year while North Mecklenburg moves to (5-0).
Senior guard Malik Bryant took high honors with 15 points for the Falcons while Ben Burnham added 10 points and Zeb Graham chipped in with 9 points. USC-Upstate signee Khydarius Smith and Shaman Alston both finished the game with 6 points apiece.
Tristan Maxwell led the Vikings with 28 points, Chris Ford added 16 points and 10 rebounds while Daqon Stewart came off the bench with 11 points. DeMar Anderson added 8 points and Dedrick Givens finished with 6 points and 10 rebounds.
Prep Hoops stayed here at the Bojangles’ Bash just for these 2 games on Saturday before moving onto other games in the state.
