He hales from the Greater Houston Area. We will also break down his strengths and weakness, as well as the outlook of his future in basketball. Let me introduce to you Tayvion Fisher-Peavy of Richmond Foster High School within Richmond, TX a UIL 5A school.
Tay is a 6’1 point guard ready to lead the charge for the Falcons. When he gets hot from deep look out. Deep ball is his strong suit to his game. He is also very quick guard that gets into the second level. He is a good off ball catch and shoot player also. Needs to play with multiple speeds. Also knowing whose on the court with you and there strengths. Has the ability to score from the mid-range.
Tay has been playing varsity basketball since he was a sophomore. Last year as a junior guard Tay helped to lead Foster to a District Championship season going 13-1 and finishing 20-13 overall. Last year they also made it to the quarter-finals of the playoffs. Last year they were in District 27, this season they are in District 24 with new foes. As a junior Tay averaged 17 points per game and 3 assist per game. Tay makes his debut tonight as they take on district foe Fort Bend Marshal. Tay has been on the football field for his senior year a sport in which he has not played since he was in middle school.
Tay how are you feeling? I’m feeling good. Talk a little bit on why football for your senior season? I wanted to play football so that i could become more physically and mentally stronger. So I heard that you went from coming off the bench to starting and this is your only High School Football experience? Yeah that’s crazy i never went in thinking that I was going to have the success that i’ve been having this season. I just wanted to contribute to my team and work on my mental strength. I kinda thought that with taking some years off and away from football that I wasn’t going to be no where near the field. How is basketball recruitment looking for you right now, also have you picked up any football interest with the season your having? Recruitment has been the same since the summer basketball wise. I’m hoping that when I get back on the court that it picks up a little bit. As far as football goes I haven’t heard anything. No one knows your game as good as you do. So what area have you improved the most in your game from last season to this season? My physicality will be the biggest improvement that people will see. They will also see my IQ much higher than it was last year. Talk a little bit about last season winning district and your expectations for the new district that you guys are in this season? Last year was a fun season and winning District was great. I feel that people forgot that we won district because no one really talks about it. I think that once me and Big Deuce get back on the court and help our team that we have a great chance of winning the new district that we are in.
Tay has an offer from the University of Texas at Tyler (D2), and Dodge City College (JuCo – KS). We at Prep Hoops Texas would like to wish Tay a great season full of health.
