Dionte Ware (pictured above) is one of the top shooting guards available.
Center is a nearly impossible position to find in Class of 2019. After James Wiseman, Malcolm Dandridge, and Jason Jitoboh the position falls off a cliff. Center is a completely undesirable position in the modern game and players don’t even want to train for it because they are aware of the limited potential for advancement.
Memphis always delivers great point guards, but of the five players below just one is from Bluff City. Baugh is a Nashvillian by birth and the Bearden boys are both Knoxville-raised. Carpenter is certainly the least known of the five, but he can dominate like few high school players.
Point Guard.
Damion Baugh (Tennessee Prep)
Deovaunta Williams (Raleigh-Egypt)
Ques Glover (Bearden)
Trent Stephney (Bearden)
Juwan Carpenter (Stratford)
Shooting Guard.
The state’s shooting guards all lack the recruiting interest and offers they desire. Why? Injuries. Dionte Ware played hurt in July. Alec Kegler is still hurt now. Sky Forrest played an entire football season. Of the five unsigned shooting guards below Kegler might have the highest upside. His recent interest from Morehead State indicates he might eventually be an OVC player. At that level Kegler could be a dynamic offensive player. Forrest is undervalued because many colleges imagine him as a football player. He wants to play basketball. His body scared away recruiters early because he is 225+ of muscle. Forrest projects as a wing defender with handles. Jefferson Walker is probably a point guard in college, but plays with two other point guards at Bartlett High.

Dionte Ware (Cleveland)
Jefferson Walker (Bartlett)
Alec Kegler (Clarksville Northeast)
Trey Davis (Fulton)
Small Forward.
The top available small forward in the state is Kameron Jones out of Southwind High School. Bruce Guy wanted to sign with Iona, but the school pulled the rug out from under him in the final weeks before Early Signing Period. Now, Guy is nudged towards a prep season somewhere. Maybe Tennessee Prep Academy?

Willie Wilson (Ridgeway)
Jamari Bostic (Ripley)
Bruce Guy (Cordova)
Elijah Cobb (Riverdale)
Power Forward.
Finally the recruiting is picking up for Luke Howard. Nate Bloedorn just heard from Army (D1) this week. Evans is D2 to D1 and Harris will probably find his way to junior college. All five could help a Division I program in small doses, though Luke is the player most likely to start for a Division I team in his lifetime.
Luke Howard (Harding Academy)
Devin Evans (Richard Hardy Memorial)
DaQuarius Harris (Kirby)
Zach Heckert (West Carroll)
Nate Bloedorn (Nolensville)
Center.
Of the three only Jason Jitoboh is a high-major player. Sterling Craig could claw his way into LM offers, but broadly speaking Tennessee has very few center prospects available.
Jason Jitoboh (Hamilton Heights Christian Academy)
Sterling Craig (Ravenwood)
Wiley Pippenger (Baylor School)
