- 1. Ben Bryson Came to Play-2020 guard Ben Bryson with 24 points, 4 assists and 3 steals for West Henderson HS in a win over North Buncombe HS 80-77. Queens, Mars Hill, VMI and Young Harris in attendance tonight. Bryson also broke the West Henderson career assist record.
2. My Thoughts on Ben Bryson-Really impressed with Ben Bryson tonight of West Henderson HS. Poised, great court vision, really strong three-point shooter, made a few well beyond the three point line, really like his ability to create space to get his shot off, under control, wants the ball in his hands.
3. Dyer is so Intriguing-Ren Dyer was solid tonight, did a lot of really good things, had 11 rebounds, scored 16 points. Plays so hard and has the best motor around. Gets rebounds guys his size shouldn’t get and his court vision has improved vastly over last season.
4. Feedback From College Coaches-The main thought from the four schools that attended the game was that Ben Bryson is a Division One college player and that Ren Dyer is very intriguing in the type of player that he is capable of being. A lot of the feedback was for Dyer and what all he could offer at the next level. He is a great rebounder with a toughness that cannot be matched.
5. The Rematch is Going to Big-The next time the two teams meet, it will be at North Buncombe in almost a month. This one could go either way but I expect it go be in the Blackhawk’s favor; Ren Dyer should get the quirks out of his game by then and start playing like he has for the past two seasons. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a big game from Ben Bryson either.
