4A Skyline Overview
We are a good portion of away through the season and I think it is time to look at some region standings and discuss what the potential future may look like for these regions/teams. Here is the 4A Skyline Overview:
Standings: As of 12/9/18
1. Shadow Mountain 1-0 (Region) 3-0 (Conference) 5-1 (Overall)
2. St. Mary’s 1-1 (Region) 4-2 (Conference) 4-2 (Overall)
3. Moon Valley 0-0 (Region) 4-0 (Conference) 4-0 (Overall)
4. Tempe 0-0 (Region) 2-2 (Conference) 2-2 (Overall)
5. Thunderbird 0-0 (Region) 1-3 (Conference) 1-3 (Overall)
6. Greenway 0-1 (Region) 1-5 (Conference) 1-5 (Overall)
Top Players:
Jaelen House (Shadow Mountain): House is the heart and soul of that team and is the face of the program. When I think Shadow Mountain, I think of the tough gritty defensive play and the sure will to win, that is everything this kid brings to the table.
Jovan Blacksher (Shadow Mountain): I still think Jovan is underrated a bit. He is one of the best floor generals in the entire state and is a huge reason that Shadow Mountain has had so much success that last 3 season and this season.
Trent Hudgens (Moon Valley): Hudgens has to be one of the best three point shooters in the state, he is absolutely lights out. I also love his ability to run an offense and his skill as a play maker.
Ty Harper (Moon Valley): This kid is ridiculously athletic. He is listed at 6’3 and has incredible bounce and speed. He is a problem in transition.
Projection
Shadow Mountain will probably run away with this region but if anyone is going to make a run at it also, it will be Moon Valley. They have two very good players/college prospects on their team, Ty Harper and Trent Hudgens. However, I would imagine continues their dominance on the Arizona High School Basketball scene.
