Drayton Watson – Spartanburg HS (pictured on front)
Watson was very solid today for the Vikings in a win over Landrum HS. Watson runs with a local team on the Grassroots Circuit the Spartanburg Spartans. Watson 5’11 rebounds the ball well for his size. Watson was able to get the ball into the paint or dish out to the open man on the wing. Watson really plays under-control on the floor and is a extremely pesky defender.
Jalen Breazeale – Greenville Tech
Breazeale and his Warriors were outmanned from the get go vs the mighty Dorman HS Cavaliers. Breazeale a top 10 player in the Palmetto State 2021 class has been a fixture here for the Warriors since middle school. Prep Hoops will have a chance to see the Warriors again this season and I expect a little better outcome this time around.
Nick Thiele – Byrnes HS (Duncan)
Thiele led the Rebels with 25 points in a victory over High Point Academy. Thiele has a nice stroke from 3 point range and is above average athlete. Thiele was able to slash to the basket at times and finish at the rim.
Alijah Means – Chesnee HS
Means 6’3 is a new name for the folks at Prep Hoops to add to the database. Means scored 20 points in a loss to a bigger JL Mann HS team. Means plays with great energy on the floor and has the ability to finish on contact. Means connected on a few three pointers from downtown.
Juwan Scott – JL Mann HS (Greenville)
Scott 6’5 was a great loose change guy today for the Patriots. Scot finished with put-backs on the glass and was able to shoot from 15 feet in. Scott came off the bench for the Patriots and finished with 11 points.
Shamere Dendy – Laurens HS
Dendy is a big-time football player according to Raiders Head Coach Ryan Walker. Dendy showed great body control on the floor and a willingness to get on the floor for loose balls. Dendy scored 12 points in a victory over Woodruff HS.
