Myles Tate – Dorman HS (Roebuck) (pictured on front)
Tate the #2 player in the Palmetto State 2020 class looked to his old form with his steady play during the Farm Bureau Insurance Tip-Off. Tate saw the floor so well these past few days. Tate was dropping dimes to the tune of 19 assists in 2 games. Tate scored the ball from using his mid-range jumper and even knocking down some perimeter jumpers.
Isayah Owens – High Point Academy (Spartanburg)
Owens transferred into the Grizzlies from nearby Chapman HS. Owens averaged 16 ppg last season for Chapman HS. Owens a combo guard has the ability to create his own shot and is quite shifty with the ball. This was the first few times we have seen Owens play and expect to see him setting up shop in the new State Rankings later this month on Prep Hoops.
Jayden Byrd – High Point Academy (Spartanburg)
Byrd likes to really let it fly from downtown behind the arc. Byrd a shooting guard has been here at High Point Academy since his freshman season. Byrd wants to score the ball when given the opportunity and generally does that from long distance. Byrd needs to pick-up his defensive intensity at times. Byrd has more weapons around him this season than ever before for at High Point Academy.
Blake Harris – JL Mann HS (Greenville)
Harris is the new player to add to the database. I honestly can say I had never seen him play before until today. Harris a catch-shoot guy knocked down several three pointers. Harris 6’1 has a quick shot release and versus Chesnee HS he finished with 15 points.
Luke Gilsdorf – Spartanburg HS
Gilsdorf a left-handed spot up shooter connected on 6 three pointers in the Vikings win today. Gilsdorf finished with 20 points in the win over Landrum HS. Prep Hoops saw Gilsdorf a few years back on the local Grassroots Circuit at the Upward Stars Center. Gilsdorf is a home-schooled kid. Gilsdorf really liked to set up shop in the corners.
P.J. Hall – Dorman HS (Roebuck)
Hall 6’9 the #1 in the Palmetto State 2020 Class DNP do to a injury. Hall indicated to Prep Hoops that he will be back later this month to play.
