Deng Alier / 6’5″ / PF / L.D. Bell / 2020
Hidden Gem
Alier has a strong body, which helps his case as an undersized four man. He attempted to display some perimeter skills, such as: ball handling and three-point shooting. However, he looked better, more effective, and more comfortable playing inside. Look for him to be a physical inside and out presence for the Raiders come district play.
Kevin Classo / 6’2″ / PF / Fort Worth Nolan Catholic / 2020
Claso helps UTSA signee Le’Jon Doss with the dirty work inside. He scores inside off of dump-off passes and finished putbacks layups though contact. Classo brings energy on the floor with his rebounding on both ends. He also is capable of hitting the stand still perimeter jumper from the midrange.
Bakari LaStrap / 5’11″ / PG / The Woodlands Christian / 2020
The reigning district MVP has added some muscle since this past summer. LaStrap displayed confidence and was vocal through stretches on the basketball floor. He is comfortable in his one-to-two dribble mid range pull-up game. He also is capable of stepping out and hitting the three when his feet are set. However, he must learn when and when not to attack. The junior guard can be at fault for empty possessions due to out of control offensive fouls. LaStrap is a willing a distributor and it will be interesting to see if he can lead the Warriors back to Mansfield.
Jaden Wells / 6’1″ / SG / L.D. Bell / 2020
Hidden Gem
Keller Central could not keep up with Wells in the open floor. He attacked the rim each time he got his hands on the ball. He used his extremely thin-frame to slip through defenders and finish with soft floaters in the paint. Wells scored a tied-game high of 18 points in the win.
