Best performance off the bench – Shelby Sampleton, Putnam City West
Shelby Sampleton (2019 PC West G) had the best scoring performance of the day – starter or not – when he dropped 32 points in 21 minutes against Fort Cobb-Broxton. The 6-foot-2 senior must have had a chip on his shoulder when he shot 6-10 from 3-point land. Altogether, Sampleton shot 59 percent from the field while going 6-6 from the free throw line.
Best rebounding performance – Jacob Germany, Kingston
6-foot-11 Jacob Germany (2019 Kingston C) has the clear advantage of height in the board game as he grabbed 18 boards in the loss to Kingfisher. If Germany could manage to tally that same total for the remainder of the tournament, he would effectively have the all-time third-best rebounding weekend in TOC history at 54.
Best performance in a loss – Kellen Hines, Fort Cobb-Broxton
Kellen Hines (2019 Ft. Cobb-Broxton PG) finished with 28 points in the Mustangs’ loss to PC West. More impressively, the senior floor general did so while only giving up a single turnover.
Best game – Kingfisher 68, Kingston 62
As many spectators likely expected, the first-round matchup between Kingston and Kingfisher would be the most entertaining game of the day. The only undefeated teams participating in the tournament, 4A No. 1 Kingfisher battled for 32 minutes with 3A No. 1 Kingston.
Best underclassman – Bijan Cortes, Kingfisher
Kingfisher court general Bijan Cortes (2021 PG) finished with 19 points and 8 rebounds off 46 percent shooting from the field and 8-8 free throws against Kingston.
Best all-around performance – Keylan Boone, Tulsa Memorial
Oklahoma State signee Keylan Boone (2019 Tulsa Memorial W) finished the day with 15 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocks, and 5 steals while shooting 5-5 from the free throw line against Hugo.
Best name – Rocky Mountain, Fort Cobb-Broxton
Rocky Mountain (2021 Ft. Cobb-Broxton W) turned some heads when his name was announced as he checked into the game against PC West. It wasn’t hard deciding who earned this superlative.
Other performances worth noting:
Trey Green 2019 Kingfisher W / 27 points, 6 rebounds, 5-5 3-pt, 79% shooting from the field against Kingston.
Kalib Boone 2019 Tulsa Memorial F / 12 points, 9 blocks, 8 rebounds, 55% shooting against Hugo.
