Will Pruitt Takes Belmont Visit
Belmont University hosted Mt. Juliet senior Will Pruitt earlier this week.
“Coach (Tyler) Holloway came to our open gym a while back before the season had started and he liked the way I shot the ball,” shared Will Pruitt.
Coach Holloway ascended this offseason from Director of Basketball Operations to Assistant Coach.
Belmont historically recruits juniors aggressively. For the last three seasons the Bruin basketball staff earned verbal commits ahead of high major college recruiters.
Will Pruitt fits the Belmont identity of persistent passers.
Is he reciprocally enamored?
“The campus is pretty nice, they also have a nice gym and a very solid student section at games, the team can stroke the ball and I really like Grayson Murphy and the way he plays, he has a knack for the ball.”
Grayson Murphy competed for Independence High until 2017 spring.
“I also played him as a freshman in sub-state when he played at Independence,” said Pruitt. “The coaches obviously have something good going on up there.”
Consider Belmont interested in Will Pruitt and the early feeling is mutual.
One other Ohio Valley Conference team began recruiting him.
“I also went to Tennessee Tech and scrimmaged with the team but the coaches were not allowed to be in attendance,” said Pruitt.
Will Pruitt does not have offer from either Belmont or Tennessee Tech. Because Belmont is essentially finished 2019 prospects they can keep pushing forward with their 2020 pursuits like and including Pruitt.
A few other schools have been in contact too.
“I’ve heard from Belmont, Lipscomb, Tennessee Tech, Mercer, IUPUI, and Lee.”
