Weekend Preview: Scrimmage Schedules

The start of high school basketball is right around the corner and this weekend is the first big batch of scrimmages and jamborees. Here’s a quick look at the weekend’s match-ups. 

  • Tonight (Thursday) at Bullitt Central, South Oldham will take on Central. Good chance to see Junior Luke Morrison and a reloading Dragons team taking on Bullitt Central who could be a contender in the 6th.
  • Bowling Green hosts St. Xavier on Saturday at noon. Isaiah Mason and the Purples taking on a rebuilding Tiger squad led by Junior point guard James Taylor.
  • Lincoln County travels to Woodford County to take on the Jackets at 10 am Saturday. Lincoln is a contender in the 12th while Woodford will look to make a run at a district title this season.
  • Desales will make a trip into the fifth region to take on Central Hardin. Jacob Hobbs will lead the Bruins and could be the favorites to win the 5th this year.

The Annual Next Up Recruits Jamboree at Butler High School takes place on Saturday. 

  • 10:45, Eminence goes up against Shawnee in a battle of small schools
  • 12:00 is a showdown between Collegiate and Southern. Cearius Warren and Camden Pfeister take on Drew Manning and Chez Moore.
  • 1:15 Central goes head to head with Bourbon County. Sophomore Devin Perry will lead the Jackets this year.
  • Things start to heat up at 2:30 as Waggener and JJ Kalakon go up against Kobe Brents and Warren Central.
  • At 3:45, a reloading Doss team takes on Jamison Epps and Tyshawn Epps of Marion County.
  • 5:00 will see Seneca and Richard Ninamou go up against always exciting North Hardin.
  • The 615 matchup is a dandy as Reese Tolley, Trey Minter and Butler go up against Collins Marcellus Vail and Dayvion McKnight.
  • The main event of the evening is the 730 tip between KJ Crump, KyKy Tandy and Taquan Hollowell take on Howard Fleming, Tyren Moore and Noah Courtney from Male.
