WBHS Jamboree: C/O 2019 Standouts
South Brunswick 2019 Forward Jace Mckinney: Yesterday he made his college choice official when he signed with UNC-Pembroke. Brave fans have a lot to look forward to as we feel as if he can have a very nice career there over the next four years. He started off the day somewhat slow but as the day went on, he got better and we saw the: scoring, rebounding, shot blocking and high motor that we already knew he had.
Trask HS 2019 Guard Ivey Batts: He had a nice day scoring the ball, and will be one of the players that Trask will look to for scoring this season. He got into the paint at a pretty high level, scored or drew fouls consistently, and played the game with a high motor.
West Brunswick 2019 Forward Kaleb Gilbert: He is a player that everybody in the gym was a fan of, he does just about everything you want from a teammate and a player on your team. He rebounded the ball at a pretty high level, knocked down shots from midrange and deep, and played the game with a energy that you have to love.
South Robeson 2019 Forward/Center Cameron Werrell: Although he is a football player, he is more than capable of being a valuable asset on the basketball team and it showed. He has good agility, soft hands and a solid IQ for the game. His passing ability out of the post, and even some outlet passes that he threw to guards were impressive.
Jack Britt 2019 Guard TJ Ellis: We like what he brings to the table for his team and the work that he’s put in on his game and his body. You can see the time he’s spent in the weight room upper body wise, he embraces contact well when attacking the rim and finishes above the rim. Playing within the flow of the team offense and picking his spot is another attribute we liked from him. This not only shows that he’s not a selfish player but also that he is a player that doesn’t have an issue with being coached or playing in a system.
