He is a freshman point guard, who with continued improvement, has shown Division 1 potential as well.
Many players have shown drastic improvement while with UTS Elite. It is no wonder then, why the team continues to attract players. UTS Elite recently added two players to the 2021 squad.
KJ Rai (6’4″, Wing, Okemos High School)
Rai has a reputation as a marksman. Its true, he can fill it up from anywhere on the court. His game goes much deeper than that though. Rai is dangerous from mid range and from behind the arc. He has tremendous focus when shooting, and can hit shots with a defenders hand in his face. Rai is an excellent team defender. He understands the principles of help defense nd his teammates can count on him being in the right position on the floor. Rai is a leader who will be an asset in the locker room.
Bryce VanderWiere (6’6″, 200 lbs, PF, Schoolcraft High School)
VanderWiere is a tough kid who can play with strength and finesse. He’s an excellent scoer in the paint and can hit a 15 foot jumper with consistency. VanderWiere can run in transition like a wing and finidh with a layup or dunk. He also passes very well, especially for a big. VanderWiere is tenacious on the glass and makes his opponent earn every rebound tbey grab. He moves well on the defensive end allowing him to disrupt penetration.
VanderWiere will be in the paint with Landon Regnerus (6’5″) who is now clear from his injury, and Jacarri Barnes (6’3″) who is a beast that provides muscle. All 3 of can stretch the floor and create space.
