Updated 2021 Rankings Overview
Here’s a broad overview of our updated rankings, taking a look at some of the trends we’ve seen so far. Stay tuned for more in depth breakdowns of the 2021 class!
CHANGES IN THE TOP TEN
A couple of new faces highlight the updated top-ten. Jordan Hawkins, a 6-foot-5 wing from Gaithersburg, is trending up after displaying a strong body of work this fall. Hawkins has consistently produced enough and exhibits the potential to be considered a top-five prospect at this point. The other prospect who made a jump into the updated top-ten is a dynamic talent in 6-foot-7 wing Benny Williams.
FALL STOCK RISERS
#12 | BEZ MBENG | 6’3 SG | GOOD COUNSEL | PREVIOUS RANK: 26
Bez Mbeng has been overdue for a major jump in the rankings. Keep an eye out for the explosive scorer and potentially elite defender this season.
#15 | TERRENCE BUTLER | 6’7 PF | BISHOP MCNAMARA | PREVIOUS RANK: 22
Terrence Butler has done nothing but produce and contribute to winning results over the past few months. You know what you will get from him each time he hits the floor, and that’s a big reason why he keeps moving up.
#16 | JULIAN REESE | 6’8 PF | NEW TOWN | PREVIOUS RANK: 24
Julian Reese is gaining a lot of momentum heading into his sophomore season, and for good reason. Reese has a high ceiling when you consider his blend of size and skill.
#24 | JARED BILLUPS | 6’4 SF | MCDONOGH | PREVIOUS RANK: 34
Jared Billups has a good chance to be one of the best defensive prospects in this class. Billups is a great athlete, a fierce competitor, and still has plenty of room to grow.
#29 | DEVIN CEASER | 5’11 PG | ST. MARY’S RYKEN | PREVIOUS RANK: 45
Devin Ceaser is probably the biggest stock riser of the fall. It is likely that he’s earned the chance to play a vital role for his team this year.
WINTER WATCH LIST
#32 | JORDAN RAYFORD | 6’5 SG/PG | GEORGETOWN DAY
Jordan Rayford can do a bit of everything at 6’5, and is really still growing into his body. Rayford is already the go-to-guy for his high school team and will gain a ton of valuable experience these next few months.
#34 | RYAN CORNISH | 6’1 PG | RICHARD MONTGOMERY
As a sophomore, Ryan Cornish is already considered one of the best players in Montgomery County. His ability to produce while also developing his overall game will likely be essential to his team’s results.
#36 | COLE HANIN | 5’9 PG | BULLIS
Cole Hanin is a true floor general who contributes in a lot of areas that won’t show up on the stat sheet. He can defend, but is also tough, very skilled and can shoot the ball with range.

Kyrese Mullen is a strong, relentless rebounder who can finish through contact. Mullen is a productive player who consistently contributes on both ends of the court.
