Team Preview: Mansfield Legacy
Team Preview
The Mansfield Legacy Broncos are known for their talented football team. However, this could be the year that the basketball team could fill up just as many seats as their football squad. Legacy is coached by one of the best and well respected coaches in the state in Coach Cornelius Mitchell. Coach Mitchell will have a lot of returning varsity players at his disposal. Seniors Matthew Reeves, Trey Tennyson, Michael Simmons, Aharon Sterling and Monta Davis will have to play well for the Broncos to be successful.
Top Players/Prospects
Michael Simmons / 6’2″ / SG / Senior
Michael is an athletic guard that can shoot it and is a good secondary ball handler. The lefty senior has a chance to have a breakout high school season.
Matthew Reeves / 6’5” / SF / Senior
Reeves is a wiry long forward that has strong athleticism and a nice jumpshot. Matthew shoots it well from the perimeter and from time to time he will look to slash. He must continue to improve his strength, but this kid is definitely a college prospect.
Trey Tennyson / 6’3” / SG / Senior (Committed to Central Connecticut State)_
Tennyson is a deadly shooter that can heat up in a hurry if he is in rhythm. He is playing his first year for the Legacy Broncos after transferring from Mansfield Timberview. Trey has improved in every aspect of his game and is looking to take help his team contend for a district title.
Final Thoughts
Legacy will be in one of the toughest districts in the state, but they have a chance to shock a lot of people if they just stay focused and play together as a unit.
