Team Preview: Grand Haven High School
GRAND HAVEN HIGH SCHOOL
Grand Haven plays in the tough Ottawa-Kent Conference – (Red). Last season they finished overall 15-8 and9-5 in League. They lost in the district finals to the hotly contested Muskegon Big Reds. Coach Greg Immink runs a quality program and develops players very well with his off season programs.
They return a solid core of players who got serious minutes last year. The Buccaneers should take a step forward and challenge West Ottawa and Grandville for the league championship this upcoming season.
PLAYERS TO WATCH:
CASEY CONSTANT – (5’8 Sr. G)
what Casey lacks in size he makes up for in quickness. He has outstanding ball handling skills. His court awareness is top notch along with his active defensive play. Look for Casey to be the coach on the floor with his experience and controlling game tempo is his greatest asset.
Bryce Taylor (6’1 Sr. G)
A stabilizing force on the court who moves well without the ball. His experience at the perimeter and defensive prowness allows him to take chances and force turnovers. A nice shooter whose third year on varsity my prove to be his best.
DREW SINKE – ( 6’2 Jr. F)
A sharpshooting forward who had a solid year on the varsity last year. Look for Sinke to take that next step and be a bigger contributor this year.
OWEN ROSS – ( 6’5 Jr. F/C)
Brings an inside presence to the roster. He worked hard for the West Michigan Lakers this past summer and should provide rebounding and shoot blocking skills to the court each night.
Adam Strom – (6’4 Jr. F)
A strong finisher in the paint. He has good hands and blocks shots. Played with the Grand Rapids Storm in the off season and contributed off the bench last year as a sophomore.
Rounding out the roster are Sr Jon Elias (6’7), Sr. Owen Bitner (6-3), Sr. Trevor Holleman (6-3) and Mason Mahacek (6-0), should bring a much-needed influx of height and experience to the roster. All of these players have a chance to contribute in some way or another.
