Team Preview – Goodrich High School
Goodrich competes in the Genesee Area – (Red) conference. The Goodrich boys’ basketball team was definitely entertaining to watch last season, and it doesn’t shy away from putting together a tough schedule. The Martians were 12-9 and 6-4 in conference overall and their season ended with a distict loss to Flint Powers Catholic 54, Goodrich 46. They bring back a core group of players who were young last year and with a year experience behind them we expect them to really compete this year.
PLAYERS TO WATCH:
TYSON DAVIS, The 5’11 Sophomore PG 11 is a top-10 2021 in the state. He the Martian leading returning scorer. Look for Davis to take charge and imporve on his already impressive freshmen year. He is a returning all-confernce player and honorale mention All-Stater. The younger brother of Michigan’s 2015 Miss Basketball, Tania Davis, Davis honed his skill on the AAU curcuit with The Family.
NICHOLAS WATERWORTH, – A 5’9 backcourt running mate with Davis. Waterworth will provide much needed support to running the show for the Martians. He has great court vision and plays lock down defense.
MASON VITALE, 6’6 senior center returns to take control of the paint. This will be his fourth year on Varsity and he brings senior leadership and strength to the Matians frontcourt.
COLBY WIGGINS, a 6’2 junior SG/SF with provide added offensive and rebounding support to the court. A year older from contributing last year as a sophomore, Wiggins looks to make his presence felt this year on a consistent basis.
