Team Preview: Godwin Heights
GODWIN HEIGHTS
The Godwin Heights boys basketball team enjoyed a highly successful 2017-18 regular season, but would like to avenge its early exit from the Class B state tournament. South Christain upset the No. 2 ranked Wolverines in last years Class B district championship snapping Godwin’s 17-game winning streak game.
Tyler WhittemoreLosing college prospects Markeese Hastings and Lamar Norman from last years team will pose a challenge to the Wolverines but look for other players to step up and fill the void. Godwin’s head coach, Tyler Whittemore has the talent on hand to extend that conference title run, led by four seniors who will have expanded roles this winter. Whittemore said team chemistry will determine the success of this year’s squad. “If we have good chemistry, we’ll be able to play faster and trust one another to have each other’s back,” Whittemore said. “Many of the players are similar on the team, so we all must trust one another, communicate effectively, and play as hard as we can.”
