There are some talented prospects that are still available in North Carolina’s Class of 2019. Some of these available seniors were on hand during early season jamborees in Fayetteville, NC, earlier this month. Others I have seen in my travels around the state, from the mountains in the western part of the state, to the Piedmont region around High Point, Winston-Salem and Durham.

Brandon Murray, 6-4 180, 2G, 2019, Freedom Christian, Fayetteville, NC
(Featured in photo at top of page.)
He was the “Best Wing” and the “Best Shooter” at the 13-team event. He is a good athlete, with a very good stroke.

Emmanuel Izunabor, 6-8 215, C, 2019, Fayetteville Academy, Fayetteville, NC
He was the Second Best “Shot-Blocker” at the 13-team event. He’s shown good offensive progress in the last six months. He finishes well and has improved his stroke from the high post.

John Wright, 6-0 185, 1G, 2019, Fayetteville Academy, Fayetteville, NC
This young man has an excellent motor. He has very good speed and ball skills, along with good strength.

Williams Onyeodi, 6-5 210, F, 2019, Fayetteville Academy, Fayetteville, NC
His offensive game is much improved. He’s become a threat to get to the rim for some rim rattling action and his jumper from 15 feet has improved. He was the Second Best “Defender” at the 13-team event.

***

Marvin Reed Jr, 6-2 175, 2G, 2019, Faith Assembly, Durham, NC
This lefty is the son of “Marvin Reed”, the long-time AAU coach who played on NC Central’s national championship team years ago. Young Marvin is a very good shooter and a solid defender.

***

Cam Sidbury, 6-1 80, G, 2019, Laney HS, Wilmington, NC
He’s a combo guard and a very good athlete with very good strength. His handle is solid and he shoots it well from mid-range. He’s also a very good defender.

***

Derdan Derdevic, 6-8 210, C, 2019, Freedom Christian, Fayetteville, NC
He has good touch, he passes well and he’s a solid rebounder. He needs strength.

***

Jalen Owens, 6-1 175, 2G, 2019, Clinton HS, Clinton, NC
He’s a strong guard with some handles and a solid mid-range shot. He also defends well.
