Scouting Report: Otis Frazier
Otis Frazier (Buckeye 2019) is a scoring machine. Frazier has a lot of potential to be a high volume scorer at the college level. I really like his game overall as a whole, believing he has both offensive and defensive attributes that will make him successful in college.
First Impression:
The first time I saw Otis Frazier play was against Salpointe High School in the 2018 State Playoffs. Frazier had a huge game and put on a show, really impressing me. I’ve made it a note to continue watching his game and attending his games and I believe he is a high-mid major D1 caliber player.
Strength:
Offensively, Frazier is a nightmare to guard. He is big, strong, and athletic. This makes him very hard to guard whenever he drives to the basket to his speed and strength. He is very lethal in transition, every fast break is an opportunity for him to catch a lob or dunk on someone. He should be a very solid wing in college.
Weakness:
While Frazier has improved as a three point shooter, I encourage him to keep working. If he could become a knockdown shooter, he would be very difficult to guard. Defenders would have to choose to back off and let you shoot or press up and become vulnerable to the drive. Frazier needs to be able to score no matter how his defender is playing him to reach the college success I think he has potential for.
Projection:
I think Frazier will ultimately end up at a mid-low major D1 school. However, I think he has the capability to play at a high level D1 program. I could see him going to a lower level school first, playing extremely well, and then transferring to a big time program.
