Region 6-AA Underclassmen
The Region 6-AA Underclassmen all made solid contributions to their respective teams last season. Lets take a closer look at some of these players right here in this article.
Darjawuan Brown (2020) – North Charleston HS (pictured on front)
Brown can really fill it up when given the opportunity. Brown was a CO-Region MVP last season for the Cougars and put up 46 points in a game last season. Brown finished the season at 19.5 ppg and 3.1 assists for the Cougars. The Cougars finished the season at (17-5) under Head Coach Chris Brown (no relation). Brown ran with a local Grassroots Circuit this past summer.
Dashawn Murray (2020) – North Charleston HS
Murray has all the talent in the world but really needs to stay focused on the hardwood. Murray missed time last season some off the court issues. Murray is a live body on the floor and plays with great movement away from the ball. Murray did manage to average 13,8 ppg in games he played last season for the Cougars.
Jaylen Green (2020) – Philip Simmons HS
Green is back for his 2nd season with the Iron Horses. Green 6’4 is very athletic and really defends the passing lanes well. Green played on the Grassroots Circuit with TMP 16U. Green excels in the transition game and will look to stalk the baseline at times. Green is a very versatile player who can play multiple positions on the floor.
Khyree Thompson (2020) – ???
Thompson played last season at Burke HS but this fall we don’t see him listed on the Bulldogs roster. Prep Hoops will have to do more looking into this matter on Thompson.
Rahmel Bell (2021) – Burke HS
Bell will look to be counted on more this season for the Bulldogs. Bell 6’3 played limited minutes last season and ran this summer with TMP 15U. Prep Hoops first saw Bell play a few summers ago with Charleston Strong then coached by Jimmy Brown.
Ralph Holmes (2021) – North Charleston HS
Holmes came up late in the season last year for the Cougars. Holmes made some early contributions to the Cougars offense and outside shooting. Holmes didn’t play Grassroots ball this past summer according to Head Coach Chris Brown.
Allen Nelson (2022) – Timberland HS (St Stephen)
Prep Hoops first Nelson last year with the Wolves. Nelson 6’5 is just going to be a freshman for Head Coach Jerome Stewart. Nelson has already great length, big feet and big hands. Prep Hoops is waiting to see this young man develop down the road.
