The next few seasons in Region 4-AAAA the Underclassmen will take center stage for sure. Lets take a look at some of the top players in this region right here on your source for prep basketball in the Palmetto State.

Quentin Hodge

Quentin Hodge (2020) – Lakewood HS

Hodge is back with the Gators after just finishing up the football season with the Gators. Hodge picked up some offers this summer from Mercer, Florida Gulf Coast University and South Carolina State all on the hardwood. The versatile Hodge started off his high school career at South Florence HS as freshman.

Patrick Iriel

Patrick Iriel (2020) – AC Flora HS

Iriel 6’9 has been playing with the Falcons since his freshman season. Iriel keeps the ball up high in the post and has a sift touch around the rim. Look for Iriel to improve on his numbers from last season and maybe have a breakout season for the Falcons.

Korey Richardson

Korey Richardson (2021) – Lower Richland HS

Richardson a slender-sleek left-handed guard plays well beyond his years on the floor. Richardson 6’3 really excels in the transition game and has the ability to create plays for others on the floor. Richardson has a nice sweet stroke on the perimeter. Look for Richardson to maybe be the main guy here for the Diamond Hornets with the departure of Christian Brown to Oak Hill Academy.

Quenton Flood

Quenton Flood (2021) – Lower Richland HS  (pictured on front)

Flood 6’4 plays really well in the paint and isn’t afraid to mix it up at times. Flood has the ability to play inside-out on the floor. The versatile Flood also shows a nice mid-range game. and has the ability to handle the rock when needed.

Dajon Townsend

Dajon Townsend (2021) – Lower Richland HS

We had the pleasure watching Townsend run with a local Grassroots team the South Carolina Tiger this summer. Townsend is a table setter point guard and has the ability to get the ball to the basket.

Robert McCray

Robert McCray (2021) – AC Flora HS

McCray 6’2 is left-handed guard who really likes to play fast and up-tempo. McCray has good length and has the ability to get the ball in the lane. McCray and Iriel will add plenty of talent to the seniors on this roster. McCray picked up a offer from USC-Upstate earlier back in the summer.

Leslie Owens (2022) – Lakewood HS

Owens will play in the shadows of Perdue, Hodge and Andino. Owens will be the next one to come out for the Gators in the years to come.
