The athletic 6-foot-6, 185-pound forward from Wilsonville High School was incredibly busy doing a lot of traveling with his International Elite AAU squad, getting a chance to showcase his skills in front of many a college coach. The off-season didn’t end there either as the junior also got a chance to participate in the Prime Time Top 40 Showcase last month in Portland.
“It was a great experience,” Reber said. “There were a lot of good players and it was a good time to showcase your talent. I played decent and I got a couple of strong moves to the key, but I could have played a little better. But pretty much everybody was there so I got to play against all the good players.”
From there, Reber played with a cobbled together fall league team that included varsity and JV players from the Wilsonville program. “It’s been fun,” Reber said. “We’ve been able to get pretty good chemistry and we’ve played pretty good together.”
Reber noted that he’s been texting back and forth with the coaches from Eastern Washington and Pepperdine, but that’s been about it with his college recruitment at this point. That’s all fine with him as he prepares for his junior season with Wilsonville.
“It should be exciting and we should be pretty good this year,” Reber said. “I’ve just got to keep on getting better.”
