Recruiting Report: Isaiah Rhodes (2020)
Isaiah Rhodes shot the ball really well in Stone Bridge’s scrimmage at Oakton last night. At about 6-foot-5, Rhodes is a three point specialist who has improved his overall game since last season.
“I’ve improved as a playmaker, both on and off the ball,” Rhodes explained. “Making plays by myself off the dribble.”
Heading into his junior season, Rhodes holds a scholarship offer from Millersville, and interest from schools such as VMI and Shepherd. Coaches love that he’s a pure shooter with ability to consistently knock down shots.
“The college coaches who are recruiting me ask me how my season is going, wanting me to take visits, and send me text messages after their games,” he stated.
Rhodes is definitely a good good shooter, but last night we saw that he can really see the floor. He’s also a hard worker, especially on the defensive end. Areas of focus for Rhodes are improving his paint-getting ability, improving his leg control, and keeping his balance. He also understands that as an upperclassmen his role will be that of a vocal leader who will be asked to make shots.
“We’re looking to win states; get a ring,” Rhodes said of his goals. “After high school, I plan to play college basketball and succeed from there.”
What can he bring to a college program?
“A hard worker who will do all the dirty work, can play a leading role, and make shots.”
Isaiah Rhodes is currently ranked by Prep Hoops as a top-60 prospect in his class. To view the full ranking of Virginia’s 2020 class, click here.
