Recruiting Report: Ahamad Bynum (2021)
Simeon 6’2” shooting guard Ahamad Bynum saved his best for last at the Pangos All-Midwest Frosh/Soph Camp as he took home MVP honors of the Top 30 Game scoring 30 points. Jumper was about as on point as I have seen it out of him during his career. He definitely is a volume scorer that will take a lot of shots. Needs to be more efficient, but when he is on Bynum can carry a team and that is exactly what he did. Split defenders and finished difficult layups at the hoop. His jumper was very good especially off the dribble creating space pulling up on a dime. Several were from super deep! Will be a significant contributor this year for the Wolverines.
He spoke about his July with the Mac Irvin Fire.
“I think it went great. We did decent, but we did bad in Vegas losing in the second round of the playoffs.”
Where has he seen growth in his game?
“I think my defense is getting better. My shot is getting better. I am attacking. I need to work on taking better shots in the game.”
Bynum chatted with us about the season which is fast approaching.
“It went great. I am ready for this upcoming season. I am looking forward to winning city and getting a state ring. My role is to score the basketball and play defense.”
Any schools showing early recruiting interest in the state’s #3 sophomore?
“Loyola, Missouri, Wisconsin, and UW-Milwaukee are watching me.”
