One of the top point guards in WNC, Ben Bryson out of West Henderson HS has seen a boost in his recruiting over the past few months. The 6-foot-3 lead guard has had Wofford, Liberty, Lehigh, VMI and Tennessee Tech in to see him over the past month. He is heading to Tennessee Tech this weekend for homecoming and a football game, next Tuesday Wofford has invited Ben down for their home game against North Carolina and Furman has also extended an invitation to have Bryson down to visit campus. It’s the beginning on a busy week for Bryson, who’s dad knows some about the recruiting side of basketball when he was recruited by Western Carolina University to play there back in the mid-90’s.
Ren DyerDyer Still Waiting on 1st D1 Offer
6-foot-3 guard/wing Ren Dyer of North Buncombe HS had a great visit to Division II King College a few weeks ago and is still getting a lot of interest from Division 1 coaches. I could see Ren being a late signee when a school has a transfer or finally pull the trigger on offering him. He is one of the more athletic players in the region, is tough as they come and is starting to really improve on his shooting. He is a player that can come in and work hard and will earn his playing time the old school way.
Ellis Picks Up First Offer
2021 point guard Jaden Ellis of Page HS in Greensboro recently picked up his first Division One offer. North Carolina A&T offered the smooth sophomore. He is a point guard that can handle the ball well, is effective in transition, distributes the ball with precision while also being able to create for himself.
