Q&A with Tariq Humes (2021)
Tariq Humes is a quick and crafty guard from Farmington High. Humes had an impressive summer competing with Michigan Playmakers on the NY2LA circuit. The sophomore guard also had a large roll as a freshman on varsity starting some games. With Farmington graduating multiple guards last year, Humes will have a very large roll as one of the Falcons premier scorers and ball handlers this season along side Tariq Shepard and Jaden Akins. Question: What are the biggest strengths of your game?
Tariq Humes: My biggest strengths is on offense, I can shoot the ball very well along with my ball handling.
Question: What do you need to improve on the most to take your game to the next level?
Tariq Humes: This year I need to focus on my defense and getting stronger.
Question: What sets you apart from your competitors?
Tariq Humes: What sets me apart is my love for the game and I’m a competitor.
Question: What are you most looking forward to about your sophomore campaign? Why?
Tariq Humes: I’m looking to blow up my sophomore season to get my name on the radar and also have a great season with me teammates.
Question: Have you been recruited by any colleges yet?
Tariq Humes: Not yet.
Question: What is your favorite class in school?
Tariq Humes: My favorite class is Math.
Question: What do you want to major in?
Tariq Humes: I want to major in Business
Question: What is a short term goal you have?
Tariq Humes: A short term goal is to win States this year.
Question: What is a long term goal you have?
Tariq Humes: Long term goal is to play high major D1 basketball.
Question: Which college or NBA player do you consider your game most similar to Why?
Tariq Humes: I feel like I play like Cj McCollum because a lot of people are sleep on him but he is a great shooter, crafty with the ball and loves to win.
