Prospect Update: Tucker Pellicci (2020 Franklin HS)
Tucker Pellicci continues to grow. The junior big man at Franklin High School is up to 6-foot-10, 225-pounds and each time he steps out onto the basketball floor, his confidence and game gets better and better. Pellicci is coming off a fall where he was invited to the prestigious Prime Time Top 40 Showcase and after further development in fall league, he is set to do big things in 2018-19.
In September, Pellicci earned an invitation to the PT40. “It was really awesome and refreshing as I had been out of the EYBL scene for a little bit so it was nice to get some good competition,” Pellicci said. “I wish I could have performed a little bit better, but it’s something I can take away from and get better off of that.”
At the event, Pellicci was able to match up against other prominent big guys such as Kaden Perry (Battle Ground) and Nathan Bittle (Crater). He learned from the experience and took it to fall league, where he started to get more assertive with his game especially on the offensive end. “I feel like I’m being more aggressive and trying to to be not only be good at the game physically but mentally,” Pellicci said. “I’m trying to get more aggressive down low and do anything it takes to win.”
The recruiting interest has been light for Pellicci but there is plenty of time for that to develop. He’s focused on his junior year at Franklin and his optimism is high. “I think it’s going to be big,” Pellicci said. “I think we have some pieces that we didn’t have last year, we’re working a lot harder, and this year’s a little more coordinated. I’m looking forward to it and I feel like we’re going to go big places this year.”
Pellicci currently ranks as the #35 player in the PrepHoops Class of 2020 rankings.
