Prospect Spotlight: Wyatt Vieth (2021)
One of the best players in the Sophomore class is a young man that most haven’t heard of. Wyatt Vieth is a versatile 6’3 wing who continues to grow physically and develop his game. Vieth plays for small, private Class A school St. Henry in northern Kentucky where he averaged 10.2 points and 5 rebounds per game while shooting 46% from the field, 44% from 3 and 72% from the free throw line. Heading into his sophomore campaign, Wyatt worked on improving his body, “I worked on gaining muscle and working out almost everyday of the week during summer. I also worked on finishing through contact and my outside shooting and passing.” It’s early in the recruiting process but Wyatt should start to hear from college coaches once they’re allowed to contact him in June of next year.
Playing at a small school like St. Henry, Wyatt should end his high school career with some very big individual statistics. Heading into the season, Vieth is looking to work towards a particular milestone this year. “My goal for this year is to do anything I can to help my team win as well as strive towards reaching 1,000 career points.” The 6’3 Sophomore also has high expectations for his team this year, “My goals for my team are to win district, All A state and to make a run in the regional tournament and compete against the top teams in the state.” Following his solid freshman season and strong 15u AAU campaign, Wyatt finds himself ranked among the top Sophomores in our class rankings but he’s not bothered by his newfound placement among the top 2021 players in Kentucky,”I think there’s always pressure playing on the varsity level but the rankings don’t affect me.” Look for Wyatt Vieth to be one of the best sophomores in Northern Kentucky this season and continue to make a push towards the top of the class statewide.
