Prospect Spotlight: The Sophomores
Colin Weber 6-4 So G/F Hopkins:
Weber has wide shoulders and long arms. He is a physical aggressive left-handed wing who moves easily in the open court and has the toughness, concentration to attack and finish in the half-court. Quick first step and will go right at you, but can mix it up with a nice spin move. He gets up and down the floor really nice and can jump. Weber plays low on defense. As a football player as well, Weber plays with aggression and toughness.
KJ Rai 6-5 So F Okemos:
More than enough physicality and talent to hold his own at the varsity level. Cuts hard and has good hands. Rai uses a combination of strength and body control to finish at the rim. His is a rhythm shooter who plays very comfortable in transition. He should develop more athletically as he ages and his ability to see the whole court is a real asset. He makes players better around him.
Malachi Black 6-7 So Detroit Henry Ford SCS:
Black is a long and smooth forward who looks the part. Nice shot from the corners. He is a volume shooter who can attack the rim when necessary. His length helps defensively with his ability to block shots and disrupt passes. As he matures he will learn the game and improve on both ends of the court and turn into a real D1 prospect.
Conner Dykema 6-6 PF/SF GR South Christian:
Dykema is a strong leader who works hard. At 6 foot 6 Dykema can play multiple positions. His quickness and range should wreak havoc on opposing defenders. He plays an old school style of basketball with a fierceness to his rebounding. Should put on muslce and strength over the next few years to go along with his impressive wingspan.
Damon Terrelle – 6-4 SF Detroit Communication Media Arts
What separates Terrelle from the rest is that he does the little things. If it’s going after a loose ball, grabbing an offensive rebound, or passing up a good shot for a better shot for his teammate, he does it. Terrelle is a coach on the floor and works to make his teammates better. His competitive spirit with take him a long way. Look for great things from Terrelle as he continues to improve his game.
