Prospect Spotlight: Quincy Wiseman (2021)
Davenport North has one of the state’s better sophomore classes, Quincy Wiseman is one of its headliners.
A two-way player with a good size, 6-foot-3, and length, Wiseman excels at getting to the rack and on-ball defense. He’s working now to develop a J.
“I can sit down and guard, I play well in transition, I work well off the ball, and I like the mid-range jumper,” said Wiseman. “I’m working a lot on my jumper and moving my range to the 3-point line, and also working on my ball handling.”
He spent his 15U spring and summer honing his skills with the Iowa Barnstormers. But tells PHIA that he’ll play with Quad City Elite next summer, alongside fellow Davenport North standout, Jayden Houston.
But first, he’ll have a sophomore season getting acclimated to varsity ball with the Wildcats.
“We are gonna be undersized so I feel as if my role is to really sit and guard and being able to knock down open shots and get the ball moving quickly,” said Wiseman. “We have a positive outlook for this season and are just looking to improve.”
Currently ranked 39th-ranked player in our Class of 2021 rankings, Wiseman is a guy with a high ceiling, who could just be scratching the surface right now. And he’s got a big year ahead of him.
“My goal for the next 12 months is to get my name more out there this high school season and AAU season with QC Elite,” Wiseman said.
