Prospect Spotlight: Jaron Ford (2021)
Among the best point guards in Georgia’s Class of 2021, is Berkmar floor general Jaron Ford.
The 5-foot-7 sophomore isn’t big, but he’s a quick and capable playmaker, who’s eager to make a major impact with the Patriots this winter.
“I’m a driver more than a shooter, and when I get to the basket I look to pass the ball more than shoot it,” said Ford. “I could improve more on my shooting, and I’ve been in the gym working on that. If I’m open, though, I can hit the shot.”
This past spring and summer, Ford was playing with Game Elite 15U. He says although the team was bit disjointed, his aggressiveness was something he was able to improve the most.
“It was alright, we could have done better if we were more together and in sync. But I did good, I was more aggressive and I was attacking the basket a lot, and my shot was falling all summer,” said Ford.
A big sophomore season lies ahead for the speedy guard, and he’s looking to help the Patriots in a multitude of ways off the bench.
“I play multiple positions here. My role on the team is to play defense and get stops, start the fast-break and kick it out to a man; I like to control the floor,” said Ford.
“My goals for the season are to just get better, especially on defense.”
