Prospect Spotlight: Chase Ackerman (2020)
Class of 2020 guard Chase Ackerman is a well-rounded prospect who returns as an impact player for the Fairfax Rebels this year. During a recent interview with Prep Hoops, Ackerman discussed his anticipated role this season, touched on his future goals, and explained what he thinks he can bring to a college program.
PH: For those who haven’t seen you play, how would you describe your overall game?
CA: “I feel like I can contribute with my shooting, hustle on defense, but I’m a good team player as well.”
PH: What’s the most underrated aspect of your overall game?
CA: “I feel like people don’t respect my athleticism. I can beat guys off the dribble.”
PH: What do you need to work on?
CA: “Ball-handling, consistently beating guys off the dribble, and running the fast break.”
PH: What has been the most improved part of your overall game?
CA: “I feel like my shot has improved over the past two years. My percentages have gone up.”
PH: What is your role going to be like?
CA: “I’m probably going to be one of the main scorers again, but also look to get other guys involved.”
PH: What’s your GPA right now?
CA: “I’m at a 4.0 right now?”
PH: What are your short term goals?
CA: “I’m trying to improve every day, and help my team achieve it’s goals.”
PH: What are your long term goals?
CA: “The AAU season will be big for me. I’d like to get some interest from schools, and see where I can go from there.”
PH: What do you think you can bring to a college program?
CA: “I feel like I’m going to bring hard work. I’m a great team player, I get everybody involved. I’m not selfish at all.”
