Prospect Spotlight: Carl Cleveland (2020)
Already with one Division II offer in tow, 6-foot-6, 235 pound forward Carl Cleveland could become a very-much sought prospect soon.
A big-bodied junior with a versatile set of skills, the Banks County product is going to be able to dominate from anywhere on the floor this winter.
“I’m usually bigger than most guys, and I’m about the same size as other team’s big guys, so I usually start down on the block, and I’m pretty good down there,” said Cleveland. “And if people guard me small, I can go out on the wing, I play the three for our team.”
Although Cleveland was asked by Atlanta Celtics and Georgia Stars to play with them this summer, he elected to train on his own and play with his high school team in local tournaments.
Banks County will have a young squad this season, and Cleveland is committed to being a solid leader for the squad.
“We had four seniors last year and they played a big role, so as a junior this year, I’m going to have to really take leadership of this team,” he said. “We lost a lot, but we have some good kids coming up.”
Recently, Cleveland was offered by D2 North Georgia, he’s been on a few unofficial visits there. Some other interest has come in from Young Harris and Bob Jones.
“This offseason, I’m going to get into the travel ball,” said Cleveland. “And just see where that takes me heading into my final year of high school ball.”
