Preview: Corner Canyon Tournament of Champions
The Corner Canyon Tournament of Champions return this year with eight good teams. Games will be played in the states most beautiful campus and state of the art facilities.
Teams
Alta– will make the 10 minute trek to CCHS and try to bounce back from their opening season loss to West Jordan. Alta will rely on their 6’7 (2021) W Jaden Brownell, but will need a team effort this year to win games. Every game in this tournament will be a battle
Cedar– Freshman stud Zab Santana started off his high school career well with a 17 point performance but they fell to Cottonwood. Cedar looks to bounce back but will need other players to help out. They will get some help from 2021 Dallin Grant who was out injured in their 1st game.
Corner Canyon– The Chargers suffered a tough loss to a very good and well coached 6A team in Copper Hills. Look for Hayden Welling to have a good game along with Gabe Toombs.
Highland– The Rams lost their season opener to Viewmont. The Rams will need more than 11 points from Liki Makaui to be successful this season. They should have an interesting game against Alta.
Lehi– The Pioneers lost a heart breaker to Bear River to start the season but got a huge game from Kevin Windsor who had 26 points on six 3-pointers.
Riverton– With the absence of Richie Saunders who decided to transfer to Wasatch Academy we have yet to see what Riverton will be like this year.
Syracuse– Blake Soifua and the Titans have good enough players to compete but they will need some major stops on defense against Westlake if they want to come out victorious tonight.
Westlake– The Thunder have a great team that has 4 players scoring in double figures which makes them a well balanced team.
