PHI Freshman Showcase: Team 6 Breakdown
The last bit of the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase is coming out over the next few days as we finish up our evaluations for the event. Today, we are looking at Team 6 and those players full breakdowns.
#26 Dayveon Turner
5’10 PG Anderson (IN)
Turner is a lanky small guard with tons of quickness and scoring ability. Great in the lane where he can get creative to finish around defenders. Jumper is okay but could use some polish. Can create in transition and the halfcourt, showing a good ability to make plays for everyone.
#36 Christopher Thompson
5’11 PG Park Tudor (IN)
Chris is a small guard with a good frame and strength to play now. Good perimeter jumper that should stick. Want to see him become a little more aggressive searching for shots. Might be a little more suited to play off the ball but has the capabilities right now.
#46 Bryan Marshall
6’1 SG Franklin Central (IN)
Marshall is a long, lean guard who has the frame nad some skill to grow into. He’s got solid handles was plenty capable of getting into the lane. Didn’t have a ton of big plays but those that he did were around using his length well. Like his upside if he can show a jumper and attack a little more.
#86 Jaylen Lattimore
6’4 SF Fort Wayne Snider (IN)
Lattimore is a big forward who has some developing to do still. He was really productive but his frame should grow and even out quite a bit. Will need a little more quickness but he’s likely to create contact in the lane to finish and battle down low for boards. Good 3/4 prospect.
#96 Charlie Williams
6’7 PF Carmel (IN)
Charlie is a long, tall forward with stretch ability. Really good in transition for his size but like his touch on the mid-range jumper and should be able to push that out beyond the line with time. Plays much more faced but but was competitive around the boards.
#6 Clayton Bridwell
5’8 PG Twin Lakes (IN)
Clayton is a really small guard but has some strength and is really adept at creating space with his dribble. Liked his ability to dribble into an area to open up space for a shooter. Good IQ and handles will keep him on the ball. Plays with some pace, thought he did well to keep the team running.
#16 Wyatt Day
5’10 SG Jac-Cen-Del (IN)
Wyatt is a smaller guard but looks to have some length. Wasn’t super aggressive but showed flashes where he can shoot the ball a bit. Was best from distance off the catch. Might be able to play on the ball more as he gets older but was at least more productive playing as a wing scorer/shooter.
#43 Carson McNulty
6’0 SG Jennings County (IN)
Carson is a solid off-guard with a capable jumper. Pushes the shot a little bit but was pretty consistent with it. Had some drives to the rim, using a little creativity to get a shot off. Likes to go to his left and finish long at the rim. Could be a solid, balanced scoring guard.
#44 Owen Linder
6’0 SG Lafayette Jeff (IN)
Owen is a solid, well built guard with some length and a really good perimeter jumper. Was a bit streaky with it and doesn’t set his feet well enough yet but the touch and release are there. Will need to add a little more dribble-drive game right now to have other offensive avenues.
#66 Clark Barrett
6’3 SF Lafayette Central Catholic (IN)
Clark is a big wing who could transition more to a forward if he continues to grow. Big and strong already, he did well playing in the lane and around the rim, picking up big rebounds and finishing with strength in the paint. Was pretty good defensively as he could matchup with wings and forwards.
