PHI Freshman Showcase: Team 5 Breakdown
The last bit of the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase is coming out over the next few days as we finish up our evaluations for the event. Today, we are looking at Team 5 and those players full breakdowns.
#15 Ryan Conwell
5’9 PG Indianapolis Pike (IN)
Ryan is a small guard but has pace and range that help to lead a team. Plays quickly and likes to attack from the perimeter. Built more as a shooting and distributing guard, driving to setup teammates. Good perimeter shooter and should provide a good amount of offense from the point.
#28 Leland Walker
5’10 PG North Central (IN)
Leland is a small but long guard who was great getting to and finishing at the rim. Really aggressive and skilled enough with the ball that getting into the lane was very easy. Looked like a capable shooter who was always looking to make a play, Sees the floor pretty well and passed it at a high level for parts of the event.
#65 Aezjeon Williams
6’2 SF South Bend Riley (IN)
Williams is a long, rangy wing that is still fairly raw but upside could be solid with time to develop. LIked his length and frame and should continue to grow a ton. Was great around the rim and brought more defensively right now.
#71 Rick Suder
6’3 SG Carmel (IN)
Rick is a big guard with tons of skill and high level IQ. Got hurt early and missed majority of the event but have seen him before. Much more advanced than any we have seen and has enough feel for the game that letting him handle the ball and make plays comes naturally.
#5 Bryce Williams
5’8 PG Fishers (IN)
Williams is a small guard with some range. Looked good shooting the ball and was even adept at passing. Thought his quickness was a big asset for him as he looked to create off the bounce and setup teammates. Will need more size and strength but that could really push his skills forward.
#25 Matt Zdanowicz
5’10 SG Crown Point (IN)
Matt is a solid guard who can really shoot the ball. Didn’t do a ton to create into the lane but was excellent on the perimeter as a shooter. Showed a little creation along the wing and mixed it up in transition as well. Decent length and should grow some more.
#55 Markell Keal
6’1 SF Fort Wayne Snider (IN)
Keal is a big guard with a great frame. Mixed it up inside and out. Wasn’t super aggressive trying to make plays but seemed to make plays off the ball and with his size. Will need to get a little quicker and find some offense but has the makings to be a good prospect.
#75 Brock Kincaid
6’3 SF Greenwood (IN)
Brock is a big wing who could still grow a bit. Will need to work on his jumper but he’s really solid as a interior player and slasher. Very mobile and agile in the lane, able to make some plays off the ball as well. Used a floater really well and had some toughness to him at times.
#85 Logan Gard
6’4 PF Garrett (IN)
Logan is a solid forward with some size and versatility. Showed he could get up and down the floor pretty well. Rebounds the ball pretty well, using length and agility to get it. Was a little physical at times too. One of the more productive interior players at the showcase.
