The high school season is now two weeks away and for the foreseeable future, Tuesday will be our day for the recruiting recap each week. Also, two weeks out mean some more prospects came off the board and some teams are putting out some last minute offers. Here is the latest.
As there are with most anything, there are nuances to recruiting. However, Indiana is getting some pressure putting on them.
2020 guard Anthony Leal has really taken off in the last year and now in the last few weeks he has picked up a pair of offers, one from Iowa and another from Maryland, that are now real competition.
At some point, Indiana, and to a lesser extent Purdue, will have to take a bigger look into the 6’5 scorer. Both teams have offers out to guys not only in-state but basically his position. It stands to reason that either school could offer soon.
A player that has been slowly improving over the last few months, more so than many others, has been that of Fishers (IN) guard Willie Jackson.
The 6’0 guard hasn’t really ever been bad but it has been more about coming out of his shell. He’s shown himself to be much more aggressive and looking to make plays and not just be a part of the play. He’s a big, physical guard that can play on or off the ball. If he can put that production into effect in the season, he will add more offers to his resume.
Right now, he’s starting to gain more legit interest as Rose-Hulman and Goshen College have both offers him a spot on their team. Could be a kid that finds more interest and picks up a higher level of offer this season.
2019 guard Tyler Kramer of Southwestern (IN) picked up an offer from Aurora University. This is his first offer to date.
2019 guard Maurion Martin of Portage (IN) picked up an offer from the University of the Virgin Islands.
2019 guard Kayden Key of Frankton (IN) picked up an offer from Olivet Nazarene. He also has an offer from Lancaster Bible College.
2021 power forward Caleb Furst of Blackhawk Christian (IN) picked up an offer from Northwestern. He also has offers from Purdue, Indiana, and Butler.
2020 guard Grant Taueg of Cathedral (IN) took a visit to Virginia Military Institute this past weekend.
2019 guard Jaden Tyson of Crispus Attucks (IN) picked up an offer from Point Park University this week.
2019 guard Karsten Windlan of Carmel (IN) picked up an offer from the University of Dubuque.
2019 forward Jacob Laravia of Lawrence Central (IN) has committed to SIU-Edwardsville. He had offers from Jacksonville, Evansville, and IUPUI as well as many DII programs.
2019 guard Alex Hemenway of Castle (IN) has committed to Clemson. He had offers from Evansville, Belmont, Creighton and others.
2019 post Chaz Hinds of Southport (IN) has committed to Pikeville. He had offers from Emporia State, DePauw, and Wabash College.
