Most Likely to have a Break-out Season: 2019
The first high school games of the season are about two weeks away! This season should be very excited as Arizona is full of high level talent at all levels. Here is my predictions of the players who will have break out seasons this year:
Dischon Thomas 6’9 F (Hillcrest Prep):
It’s hard to say that a player as well known as Dischon will have a break out season, but he has improved tremendously. Thomas has greatly improved as a shooter, becoming a hard close out from distance. I’ve seen Thomas play on numerous occasions since AAU season and he has looked very promising every time.
Payton Dickerson 6’7 F (Hillcrest Prep):
Payton is a very versatile scorer. I think he may be a little overlooked simply because Hillcrest has so much talent on their roster. By the end of the season, people will talk about Dickerson more and more.
Khalid Price 5’10 G (Mountain Pointe):
Price is a very smart guard is not talked about enough. I think he has a great season this year and becomes a house hold name.
Keaton Rodgers 6’5 F (Sandra Day):
I really like Rodger’s potential. He is very strong and very quick, a very solid athlete overall. However, he has improved a lot in a very short amount of time. If he continues to improve at this rate, he will have a break out season.
Cassius Carmichael 6’4 G/F (Ironwood):
Cassius is a relatively unknown player who will make his presence known every game. He is the defensive anchor of Ironwood’s widely known stellar defense. He is very long, very athletic, and has a great ability to steal the ball and lead the transition.
Kaleb Brown 5’10 G (Peoria):
Kaleb has recently received his first offer from Park University. I think he will receive more offers by the end of the season. He is a very smart guard and is a mid-range marksman.
