Most Intriguing Prospects: Mascoutah vs Waterloo
The first game on Tuesday night at the Wesclin Tip-Off Classic was Mascoutah and Waterloo. Mascoutah took control of the game early and didn’t let up. They won by a final of 68-34. Here are our Most Intriguing Prospects: Mascoutah vs Waterloo.
PF Aly Keys (Mascoutah – 2019)
Keys is a transfer from Georgia that came off the bench, but he might be their best prospect. The 6’6” long and rangy post has a lot of projectability. He hit a turnaround jumper and finished a couple times above the rim including a monster transition jam. Used his quickness to get on the offensive glass for put backs. Nice a nice job protecting the rim with his timing defensively. He had 15 points.
PF Tyler Jowett (Mascoutah – 2019)
Jowett is a 6’6” four man that has a crafty game. He scored on a few layups in the paint, and-1 through traffic, and quick post ups. Runs the floor hard. Not the best athlete, but knows how to get stuff done. Went for 10 points.
SG Malik Green (Mascoutah – 2019)
Green is a power two guard with strength and athleticism. Gets in the lane and on the offensive glass. Also hit a corner three. Told us he is most likely leaning toward playing football at the college level. Finished with 9 points.
PG Jared Johnson (Mascoutah – 2019)
The fourth of the senior quartet is this 5’11” point guard. Slick ball handler that found driving lanes where he scored or dished. Also hit a three. Went for 10 points.
PG Tre Wahlig (Waterloo – 2019)
Wahlig was the top performer in this contest for Waterloo. The 6’2” 2019 combo guard was a solid shooter that connected from mid-range and three. Quick take to the rim on the secondary break and was a crisp passer. He had 7 points.
SG Jake Wade (Waterloo – 2020)
The Waterloo junior stands at 5’10”. He hit a two dribble pull up along with a three from the wing. Finished with 5 points.
PG Ty Lenhardt (Waterloo – 2022)
Lenhardt was the youngest player on the floor. The freshman 6’0” point guard mixed it up some on the defensive end. Got loose for a layup and also hit a three on his way to 7 points.
