MISD Spring Creek BBQ Classic Tournament (Part I)
MISD Spring Creek Tournament Part I
There was a lot of talent here as expected at the MISD Spring Creek Classic. Here is some of the players that have stood out to me so far.
????Unsigned Senior Alert ????
Tristen Newton / 6’5” / SG / El Paso Burgess / 2019
Newton is one of the best scorers in the state of Texas, he has a knack for putting the ball in the basket. The long 2 Guard is a dynamic scorer that can score it from multiple spots on the floor. Against Arlington Martin, Newton did a good job of scoring on or off the ball. Tristen’s head coach also did a great job of running him off of screens to allow him open looks.
Final Stats: 39 points
????Unsigned Senior Alert ????
Jakevan Leftridge / 6’4” / SF / Wilmer Hutchins / 2019
Leftridge nickname should be Mr. Versatile because that’s literally who he is on the court. Leftridge has a long wingspan and uses it to his advantage on the glass. He grabbed multiple rebounds and even started the break himself when his team needed him too. Whoever gets this Unsigned Senior is getting a player who will do the little things on both ends of the floor for your program.
Dyriel Empy / 5’10” / SG / Wilmer Hutchins / 2019
Empy may be small for position but he can score it as well anyone in the state. Empy shot it really well from deep vs. Mansfield Legacy. The Unsigned Senior Finished with a game high 26 points that included (5 three point FGM).
Montreal Pena ⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 6’9” / Forward / Martin / 2020
Pena is not too far away from being a Nationally Ranked Prospect. Pena runs the floor like a deer and finishes well above the rim near the basket. Montreal is a good athlete that also affects the game on the defensive end by rebounding and blocking shots.
