Lindsey Elevating His Stock
Once believed to be a strong mid-major recruit, Mineral Point (Wis.) 2020 shooting guard Isaac Lindsey is now on the cusp of potentially earning high major offers. Following a strong travel season on the EYBL circuit, Lindsey showed he belonged with some of the nation’s top players.
“I feel like I was able to prove a lot of people wrong,” Lindsey told Prep Hoops Wisconsin. “As the season wore on, I just got more and more comfortable with my role.”
Lindsey will head back to the Wisconsin Swing this spring as the 2:30 drive to practice with Phenom University became a little much.
Heading into his junior season, Lindsey holds offers from DePaul, UNLV, Loyola (IL), Brown, UIC, UW-Milwaukee, South Dakota State, and UW-Green Bay. He said two schools are currently sticking out.
LOYOLA: “I went down there and met all the coaches. It was a really good visit, really nice campus, and they have a great atmosphere too.”
SOUTH DAKOTA STATE: “I have a pretty close relationship with coach (T.J.) Otzelberger. We’ve been close for a while. They were one of the first to offer me, so that means a lot.”
Wisconsin continues to monitor Lindsey closely. The Badgers hosted the 6-foot-3, 170-pound sniper on Wednesday.
“I’ve been in contact with them a lot more lately,” Lindsey explained. “I’ve been talking with coach (Joe) Krabbenhoft quite a bit and talking with coach (Greg) Gard over text. They seem like they’re getting more and more interested. They asked me to come up to a few more practices and check some games out. “I’m going to get up there as much as I can.”
A few other high major programs are also involved with Lindsey this fall.
“I’ve been talking to Purdue quite a bit,” he said. “Iowa and Minnesota, I’ve been in contact with. Wake Forest has talked to me quite a bit too.”
Lindsey will visit Oakland (MI) and Minnesota later this month
As of now, Lindsey is eyeing a decision in May.
“I’d like to play out this season and play out the spring,” he said. “I’ll probably make a decision after the spring AAU session.
“I’m not dead set on it right now,” Lindsey continued. “It just depends how I feel and what feels the best for me.”
