Capital Area Activities Conference realigned for the 2018-19 season.  We will focus on the newly formed White Division:  Charlotte, Eaton Rapids Ionia, Lansing Sexton, Lansing Catholic, Portland.

CHARLOTTE – The Orioles finished 4 -16 last year and look to improve this year,  They return some key contributors but the well including Justin Bates PG who has a nice outside shot and moves the ball nicely. Garrett Falk and Rhys Carter will provide added depth to front court and Brayden Denny will shore up the middle.

EATON RAPIDS IONIA – Finished 8-13 last season.  They return senior G Nathan Dassance along with his 6’2 younger brother So. Zach Dassance.  6’5 Caleb Norder is a terrific athlete and will bring athleticism and size to the floor.  6’3 Jr. Forward  RJ VanVliet will give solid minutes to the Greyhounds.

LANSING SEXTON –  Under new head coach Steve Finamore the Big Reds hope to get over the hump in returning a Sexton program that flourished in the past.  They have struggled since the Big Reds won the Class B state titles in 2011 and 2012, plus a Class B Finals appearance in 2010. The Big Reds went 2-19 in 2017-18. 6-foot-6 Junior Anthony Frison will be looked to continue developing after a solid sophomore season.

LANSING CATHOLIC – The Cougars went 9-13 overal and 5’5 in the league last season. Colin Day senior 6’0  SF, SG, PG  is the team leading returning scorer. Josh Kramer senior 5’11 / PG, SG lead the team in assists last year and Matthew Plaehn senior lead the team in rebounding last season.  This core is all back and should provide a nice boast to the season.

PORTLAND –  Fnished 3-18 last year and 1-11 in conference.  The Red Raiders willl look for Sr. Guard Blake Patrick and  6’3 Jr. Owen Russell, to build on their All-County selections last year.  Along with Junior David Svanda this team will surely improve this upcoming season.
