Intro: Kyle Thomas (2022)
We caught our first glimpse at talented St. Joseph’s 6’7” 2022 power forward Kyle Thomas this fall. There has been some buzz about his game coming into high school. First thing that stands out is he has a projectable frame. Broad shoulders and a frame that should easily be able to carry 25-30 more pounds as time goes on. Coordination is still a work in progress, but he did show off potential including a baseline take for a dunk. Moves his feet pretty well. Like his potential as a shot blocker down the line. Still early, but a big man to monitor for sure!
He spoke about workouts with the Illinois Wolves this fall.
“It has been a great experience and fun. A lot of great guys. A lot of good players.”
How has it gone in open gyms heading into his freshman season at St. Joseph’s?
“It has went well. It is a lot faster than I anticipated, but I have got used to it. The team I feel is going to be pretty good going up against other schools.”
Thomas broke down his game and what he does best.
“Versatile is all I can say. If you need me outside I can shoot. If you need me inside I will be inside. If you want me to take the ball down I can do that as well.”
What are his goals for freshman season?
“Just to learn and get used to the game and adapt to it.”
