Illinois Top 50 Prospects Regardless of Class: #36-#40
In September we released our rankings for the classes of 2019, 2020, and 2021. What if you took those classes and did an overall ranking regardless of class? This is what they would look like! This is our Illinois Top 50 Prospects Regardless of Class!
Today we unveil prospects #36 – #40!
#36 Scotty Ebube (Mundelein – 2021)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Ebube is a prospect that emerged during July with Kessel Heat playing on both the 15U and 16U levels. At 6’7” he has a physical build with strength on the interior. He is a beast rebounder in traffic at his age. Strong hands allow him to grab boards at their highest points. Offense showed flashes during July. Quality post defender.
#37 Jaylin Gibson (Evanston – 2021)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Gibson is a quick twitched athlete on the perimeter. The Evanston shooting guard is a slippery driver that did that really well at PrepHoops Top 250. Lives in the lane where he finishes well in the paint. Long strides and is a quality wing finisher in transition.
#38 Dante Maddox (Bloom – 2020)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Maddox continues to improve each time out. He is a two guard that can flat out let it fly from beyond the arc. Deep range on his shot especially off the catch. The type of shooter that can carry a team for stretches. Flashed some ability to play on the ball in stretches.
#39 Khailieo Terry (Champaign Central – 2021)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Terry might be the best pure athlete in the state. The 6’4” combo forward does the overwhelming majority of his damage in the paint where he throws down huge slams and swats shots coming out of nowhere. He is an elite level athlete that for his game to reach its full potential he will have to improve his skill set or grow.
#40 Kimahri Wilson (Carmel – 2021)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Wilson emerged during his freshman season at Carmel running the show in his first year of high school basketball. The lead guard is more of a scorer than distributor at this stage. So fast with the basketball and is a creative ball handler. This young guard lives in the paint! Speed is the name of his game!
