Illinois Top 50 Prospects Regardless of Class: #31-#35
In September we released our rankings for the classes of 2019, 2020, and 2021. What if you took those classes and did an overall ranking regardless of class? This is what they would look like! This is our Illinois Top 50 Prospects Regardless of Class!
Today we unveil prospects #31 – #35!
#31 Jayden Johnson (Batavia – 2020)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Johnson is a skilled wing that has a strong body. Big time shooter from deep that connects from beyond the arc at a high rate. Johnson moves well without the ball to get open. He has a quick release on his shot. Solid passer and crafty driver off the bounce.
#32 Reggie Strong (St. Joseph’s – 2020)
Last Year’s Rank: #23
Strong is making the move from the Chicago Public League to Chicago Catholic League as he is transferring to St. Joseph’s for his junior year. The quick and shifty lead guard takes quality angles to get where he needs on the floor. Showed growth this spring and summer with his ability to pass the ball and get his teammates involved. Like his potential on the defensive end with his anticipation getting steals.
#33 Marcus Watson (Morgan Park – 2020)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Watson is a two time state champion already heading into his junior campaign. The wiry lefty is a jet with the rock in his hands! He is at his best when using his speed in the transition game where he can beat defenses down the floor before they are set. Improved as a passer and definitely has a knack for getting his hands on steals defensively.
#34 Devon House (Sterling Newman – 2020)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
House is a big bodied five man from the western part of the state. He has size and is a space eater on the interior. House has actually gotten in much better shape over the last year which has opened up more areas of his game. Outstanding area rebounder. Sound footwork and a soft touch in the post. His face up jumper has greatly improved which was seen at PrepHoops Top 250 Camp. Underrated passing ability too!
#35 Chris Conway (Naperville Central – 2020)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Conway is another one of the better post prospects in the junior class. Conway’s length, broad shoulders, and athleticism make him intriguing physically. Really like his mobility on both ends of the floor. Conway is a post that can defend multiple post positions as well as switch in a pick/roll. Shot blocking presence. Offensive game showed flashes during the summer on the circuit. Look for him to have a breakout season!
