The Grand Rapids Angels (formerly Hoop Heaven) are no strangers to success. They have built a powerhouse on a national scale and look to continue to develop an elite team and program this season.
Head Coach: Greg Endsley
Assistant Coach: Paul Lauer
2017-2018 Record: 35-10

TEAM OUTLOOK
Expectations:
“To win States, Regionals and the NCHBC National Championship.” – Coach Endsley
Areas of Concern:
“Depth. We have a young bench that will need to learn and contribute quickly. Defense- We want to keep teams in the 40’s. We know we can score with anyone. If we accelerate our learning with solid defensive principles and pressure we will achieve our goals.” – Coach Lauer
Best Case Scenario:
“Winning the National Championship. The boys all wrote down their team goals and this was 100% consistent.” – Coach Endsley
Key Returnees:
Luke Maranka (Senior)
“At 6’11” with out side shooting skills is hard for anyone to defend. Has received many D-1 offers.” – Coach Endsley
Luke Sallee (Senior)
“When hot, can shoot with anyone. Great motor.”
– Coach Endsley
Jared Endsley (Sophomore)
“Last year was the national freshman of the year. A pass first point guard that will get looks from NAIA schools.” – Coach Endsley
Shawn Coad (Junior)
“The most athletic kid in any gym. Can run and jump with the best. Is getting looks from NAIA schools now. With hard work the next two years could move him up to the D-2 level.”
– Coach Endsley
Key Newcomers:
Nathan Lauer (Junior)
“Coming over from public school. Teaming up with Endsley in the back court gives us two point guards with great vision, scoring ability and leadership to lean on. With two years left to develop his game, Lauer who is getting D3 and NAIA looks now, has the potential to reach the D-2 level.” – Coach Endsley
Players with the ability to play at the next level:

Nathan Lauer: “Prep Hoops #43 ranked prospect. Many Colleges interested. Mature game with high IQ. Strong, athletic kid who can finish at all levels.” – Coach Lauer
Shawn Coad: “Gifted athletically, loves the game. Lock down defender. National Dunk Champion.” – Coach Lauer
Jared Endsley: “Great court vision, high IQ. Knock down shooter. Routinely gets teammates open.” – Coach Lauer
