GE8TOC Standouts Part 4
Powder Springs, Georgia – The 3rd annual Georgia Elite 8 Tip Off Classic tipped off Saturday and what a great slay of games it gave us. The 2018 GE8TOC was filled with great games from start to finish, including two games that went into overtime, and the finale between Anthony Edwards and Holy Spirit against Okoro, Cooper, and McEachern. There was talent displayed all over the floor all day long and below I have listed my standouts from the loaded event.
Note: Part 4 of 4
2019 W Elias King (Mississippi State) – Lincoln Academy
The 6-foot-7 Mississippi State commit Elias King led his Lincoln Academy program to a win on Saturday over Greater Gwinnett Christian. Elias finished the contest with 17 total points off the bench. Although Greater Gwinnett Christian was not on Lincoln’s level, the Bulldogs were still getting their chemistry together as their schedule is about to get even better. King and his Lincoln Academy squad will be facing Anthony Edwards and his Holy Spirit team at Holy Spirit this upcoming Friday night. That should be a good one.
2020 SG Brady Burnett – Trinity Christian School
After watching Mr. Burnett on the floor the last two weeks, I have come to conclusion that he is a very smart basketball player. Brady finished with 20 points in his teams win Saturday over Miller Grove. Only a junior, he sits at 6-foot-5 and has a great feel for the game. Brady is able to make the right plays whether he is cutting to the basket or finding an open teammate for a better shot. He is not the most athletic prospect or quick prospect but he certainly knows the game of basketball. Burnett along with Sanchez should lead this Trinity Christian team to a great season.
2021 G Zyair Greene – Miller Grove High School
When you think or hear Miller Grove High School in Georgia, you think of a powerhouse with a dynamic team. This season it will be very very different for Head Coach Rasual Chester and his Miller Grove staff. This has to be the youngest team I have witnessed before to where a Miller Grove uniform. So what does this mean? The future is very bright for this program and sophomore guard Zyair Greene is definitely apart of it. Greene finished with 16 points in their lost over Trinity Christian. He is a type of guard that will always be in attack mode. Zyair showed that he is good at finishing inside and also drawing contact from his defenders. This is a young kid on a young team and I cannot wait to him in action next season.
2019 PG Dereon Seabron – Massanutten Military Academy
The 6-foot-5 point guard Dereon Seabron had him a solid performance at Saturday’s GE8TOC. The lengthy guard put his skills on display and you could not miss him on the floor. Seabron is a very slim type of guard with long arms and yes he was running the point guard position. He did what he did best the entire game. It was not a good shooting night for the senior, so all he did was make his way to the rim all night long and he succeeded. Even though his squad came up short, Dereon finished with a total of 15 points.
