(Game Recap)
The Birdville Hawks visited the Burleson Elks in a 5A non district Showdown. Both teams have talent at the point guard position. Birdville High Point Guard Tre Hester did a great job early on setting the tempo for his team and made good decisions on the offensive and defensive end. Burleson Elks Point Guard Sam Martin equally tried his best to give his team a chance to come out with a win. Both teams competed at a high level against one another and at the half the score was tied 31-31. In the second half the intensity was still very high but Birdville’s Guards were too much to handle for the Elks.

Hester played under control and made some very heady plays for the Hawks. Tre is known for his ability to fill it up on the offensive end. He did a good job of not only scoring but finding teammates with good passes that led to baskets.

Jalen Jackson / 6’0” / SG / Birdville / 2019
Birdville’s Senior Shooting Guard Jackson hit some key jumpers in the game for the Hawks which helped them tremendously in the win.
Finished with 16 points in the win vs. Burleson
Chase Henderson / 5’10” / SG / Birdville / 222
Henderson definitely looks like a freshman on the court. However he doesn’t play like one, the young shooter moves very well without the ball and got to his spots to make himself available for his teammates to find him behind the arc for multiple three point baskets.
Finished with 9 points off of three, three pointers.
Sam Martin / 5’11” / PG / Burleson / 2019
Martin is a strong playmaking guard that creates well for others with the ball in his hands. Sam has a tight handle which helps him separate space to get his shot off.
